A transformational journey.
I know what it feels like. For over a decade I was struggling, I knew that all I wanted to do was make the music that I heard in my head. It was so hard and seemed impossible, like there was some sort of hidden trick I wasn’t seeing. Quick fix after Youtube tutorial after Youtube tutorial and I was going round in circles. Sound familiar?
Everyone else could seem to do it, why couldn’t I? That sinking feeling of listening back to my track the day after spending hours at my computer thinking “THIS IS THE ONE” and then it sounding, well, shit. Flat, lifeless, boring, not doing what I wanted it to do, and don’t even get me started on the mix. Instead of having fun making music, releasing records and playing shows I was banging my head against the desk with crippling anxiety, constantly doubting myself and feeling like a total failure. Day after day, year after year.
You’re in good hands. Here’s some of my experience.
I currently work as a music production coach, mix engineer and drummer in Melbourne. In my time I’ve produced recorded and mixed all sorts of music from indie folk to dark techno. Among other things I’ve worked as a live sound engineer, professional musician for contemporary dance, played in bands, DJ’d at clubs and parties, build interactive surround sound festival installations, composed music for adverts, feature films & theatre pieces, and ran community focused educational nights and experiences. I can’t wait to share my knowledge and experience with you.
